about.

Hi! I’m Arsham, a student with a deep-rooted passion for STEM and creativity. While pursuing cutting-edge endeavors in chemistry and sustainable development, I also express my thoughts through writing.

As a dedicated STEM enthusiast, I have immersed myself in diverse academic and extracurricular pursuits, from publishing research on solar panel efficiency to improving potability of drinking water in localities. My journey includes hands-on experience in solar glass composition testing at Borosil Renewables and a biofuel project at Plaksha University.

Beyond the lab, my love for creative expression led me to publish a poetry book, ‘The Humor of Hard Hitting Reality,’ and write a travel article for Tourism Quest. I’m driven by curiosity and a commitment to making a positive impact through both science and art.

SUMMER PROGRAM

Young Technology Scholars 2024

Plaksha University

As part of the Young Technology Scholars program at Plaksha University, I worked on ‘Poo Power,’ a project focused on sustainable biofuel production from algae. My team and I cultivated and processed algae to extract biofuel, which gave us valuable insights into the potential of renewable energy solutions.

INTERNSHIP & OBSERVERSHIP

Borosil Renewables

December 2023

At Borosil Renewables, India’s largest solar glass producer, I shadowed process engineers across various departments and conducted chemical tests in the lab to ensure quality control. This internship gave me valuable insight into the technical and sustainability aspects of solar glass manufacturing.

RESEARCH PAPER

Correlating Solar Panel Efficiency and Fill Factor with Hydrogen Production During Electrolysis

2024

In this study, I examined the efficiency of polycrystalline solar panels in driving the electrolysis of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to produce hydrogen. Using five solar panels with varying power outputs, I measured parameters such as voltage, current, and fill factor under controlled light and temperature conditions. The research showed a strong positive correlation between the power output of the panels and the rate of hydrogen production, indicating that higher panel efficiency leads to increased hydrogen generation. This work underscores the potential for small-scale solar panels in renewable hydrogen production and provides an accessible framework for evaluating solar panel performance in different environments.

Potable Water Initiative.

I led a community-driven Potable Water Initiative aimed at ensuring safe drinking water access in underserved areas. Collaborating with the Rotary Club, I conducted chemical and toxicological testing of water samples to assess potability, focusing on key contaminants and health hazards.

Based on my findings, I organized educational workshops within these communities to promote safe water practices and raise awareness about water quality issues. This work not only provided valuable data to address local water safety challenges but also empowered communities to advocate for and maintain improved water standards.

poetry.

In society, you’re either categorised as a star or a mere shadow

A golden decoration in shine

With striking divine,

The star of the tree

in tension free,

catching the eye

of the passer-by.

But another lustreless,

In inferior suppress

At the back of the tree,

With no visibility,

Is always still

Amidst words of shrill.

A golden decoration in shine

With metallic fine,

On a branch quite long,

In a cheerful song,

With the silver one,

Its pair is well done.

While in great brine

On the sideline

The lonely one

In a corner shun,

‘Tis disproportionately big,

Thus ignored and hid.

On Foot in Geiranger: Exploring Norway’s Hidden Wilderness

August 2024

I had the chance to share my journey through Norway’s wilderness in my article, “On Foot in Geiranger: Exploring Norway’s Hidden Wilderness,” featured in Tourism Quest. Trekking through Geiranger’s remote landscapes was an unforgettable experience, and I wanted to capture its raw beauty and tranquility in words.
